Jennifer Oceguera is a Basic Needs Advocate and CalFresh Peer Advisor with UCSB Basic Needs, where she connects students experiencing food and housing insecurity with resources such as CalFresh, housing support, and technology resources. She hopes to make students’ college experiences a little easier and more successful. Growing up, Jennifer saw members of her community struggle to access resources due to language barriers and fears surrounding immigration status. These experiences inspired her to become a bridge between students and the resources available to them. Jennifer is a Sociology major with a minor in Applied Psychology, speaks English and Spanish, and uses she/her pronouns. Originally from Modesto, California, she enjoys going on walks, spending time with friends, and watching movies and TV shows.
