The Halal and Kosher Grocery Program provides weekly no-cost bags of groceries that meet Halal and Kosher certifications/dietary needs. This program is for students who demonstrate financial need and who need this service. Grocery bags are available for pickup on a weekly basis on campus. Individual bag and family bag options are available for students with dependents. The grocery bags contain a variety of meals per bag of non-perishable items. We aim to make grocery bags as well-rounded as
possible, and when possible, will include refrigerated and frozen items. Recent program expansion has allowed the program to provide some prepared meals to participants throughout the quarter. This critical food security program is made possible with Isla Vista Food Co-op, Associated Students Food Bank, and the Food Security and Basic Needs Taskforce.
Program Eligibility
1) Currently enrolled at UCSB as an active, degree-seeking full-time student
2) Demonstrate financial need
3) Is in need of grocery items that meet Halal and Kosher certifications
