Halal and Kosher Grocery Program

This program provides weekly no-cost grocery bags to students who keep a Halal or Kosher diet and demonstrate financial need. Grocery bags are available for pickup on a weekly basis on campus. Individual bag and family bag options are available for students with dependents. The grocery bags contain 12-14 meals per bag of non-perishables items. We aim to make grocery bags as well-rounded as possible and when possible will include refrigerated and frozen items. Recent program expansion has allowed the program to provide prepared meals to participants throughout the quarter. This critical food security program supports students with cultural and religious dietary restrictions and is made possible with Isla Vista Food Co-op, Associated Students Food Bank and the Food Security and Basic Needs Taskforce.
