Hello! My name is Kathleen, and I’m excited to continue my role as a UC Bonnie Reiss Leading on Climate Fellow. This will be my second year working on implementing the UC Healthy Vending Policy and collecting baseline data across our 10 campuses. Originally from the OC, I'm currently entering my third year, pursuing a dual degree in English and Cell and Developmental Biology. My passion for science communication, commitment to broadening the perspective of "healthy eating" to incorporate diverse cultural choices, and experience in data analysis as an undergraduate researcher (at USC Keck and Morrissey Lab at UCSB) led me to this role in 2023. Through this position, I aspire to broaden awareness about healthy eating and advocate for culturally relevant options in our vending. In my downtime, you'll find me running, journaling, or experimenting with recipes made from the ingredients I spent too long selecting at the farmer’s market!
